This is Bihar’s first minimum wage fixation issued under the Code on Wages, 2019 rather than the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 — a sign that the Bihar Rules, 2026 are now operational. The rates are stated to be provisional, computed on the average All-India CPI, with ex-post-facto approval to be obtained once the State Advisory Board under the Code is constituted.
