ESIC: Intimation of Claim Status to Insured Persons through SMS

The ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) has issued a circular, F. No. N-16016/1/2023-BFT-II, dated 08-09-2026, issued by Deputy Director (Benefit) Chandan Prabhakar at ESIC Headquarters, addressed to Regional/Sub-Regional Directors and Joint/Deputy Directors across ESIC offices.

Key points:

• ESIC has built an SMS facility into its system to keep Insured Persons (IPs) updated on their claim status.
• SMS alerts are triggered automatically at key stages of claim processing — submission, rejection, and approval.
• Purpose: improve transparency and communication with beneficiaries, so IPs don’t need to visit the branch office to check status, and get timely updates on claim disposal.
