The Ministry of Labour & Employment has recently announced significant updates for ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) beneficiaries:
- Aadhaar verification is no longer mandatory – workers will not be denied medical or cash benefits if Aadhaar authentication is not completed.
- Aadhaar authentication will remain voluntary, and beneficiaries can use alternate IDs like PAN, Passport, Driving License, etc.
- Collaboration with Ayushmaan Bharat – PMJAY to extend secondary & tertiary care to ESIC beneficiaries.
- Enhancement in Permanent Disablement Benefit (PDB) & Dependents’ Benefit (DB).
- New initiatives like online claim submission for insured persons/women for faster & hassle-free services.
- These steps are aimed at making ESIC services more accessible, patient-friendly, and inclusive, ensuring no beneficiary is left out.
A positive move towards strengthening India’s social security net and employee welfare system.
