Extension of Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers/ Employees (SPREE)

The ESIC has announced that the SPREE 2025 scheme has been extended by one month, giving employers time till 31 January 2026 to register under ESI with the same relaxed conditions as before.

SPREE 2025 (Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers/Employees) is a special ESIC drive to bring unregistered establishments and workers, including contractual staff, under the social security net of the ESI Act. The scheme originally operated from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025 as a one-time opportunity to regularise coverage without fear of retrospective inspections, past contribution demands or legal action for the pre‑registration period.
