Date of Notification: <\/strong>22 November 2024<\/p>\n

To ensure that maximum number of employers and employees benefit from the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme announced in Union Budget 2024-25, the Ministry of Labour & Employment has directed EPFO to work in a campaign mode with Employers and ensure activation of Universal Account Number (UAN) of employees. EPFO will involve their zonal and regional offices for effective outreach.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Every subscriber of EPFO is required to have an AADHAAR linked Universal Account Number (UAN), which needs to be activated by creating login on the Member Portal<\/strong>, for availing a number of facilities through a single window. Such facilities<\/strong> include:\n
      \n
    1. \n
        \n
      1. View and download PF passbooks<\/li>\n
      2. Submit online claims for withdrawals, advances, or transfers<\/li>\n
      3. Update personal details<\/li>\n
      4. Track the status of claims in real time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      5. The activation process<\/strong> is straightforward and can be completed using an Aadhaar-based OTP <\/strong>(One-Time Password) by following the steps mentioned<\/strong> below:\n

            \n
          1. Go to EPFO Member Portal.<\/li>\n
          2. Click on the “Activate UAN” link under “Important Links”.<\/li>\n
          3. Enter your UAN. Aadhaar number, name, DOB, and Aadhaar-linked mobile number.<\/li>\n
          4. Employees should ensure their mobile number is Aadhaar-linked to access the full range of EPFO’s digital services.<\/li>\n
          5. Agree to Aadhaar OTP verification.<\/li>\n
          6. Click “Get Authorization PIN” to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.<\/li>\n
          7. Enter the OTP to complete the activation.<\/li>\n
          8. A password will be sent to your registered mobile number upon successful activation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          9. Further, for availing the benefits of any Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme,<\/strong> the Bank Account number<\/strong> of the beneficiary is required to be seeded with AADHAAR <\/strong>so as to credit the benefits directly into the beneficiary’s bank account.<\/li>\n
          10. Since, the benefits under ELI Scheme, will be disbursed through DBT to eligible employees, Employers are urged to ensure UAN activation and AADHAAR seeding in Bank Account by 30th<\/sup> November 2024<\/strong> in respect of all their employees who have joined in the current financial year, starting with the latest joinees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
